Jamie’s Sweet Mind Stuff

Resisters supported by Rev. 13:8

I’m Just curious about what you guys think I have to write a paper on it for my Revelation class with Dave Sliker. Ok here it is I am taking on the Resistors that we have heard and learned about in many of our end time teachings. I understand the Redeemed and the Reprobate but I’m not sold on the idea that resistors are a bunch of red neck hillbillies not wanting to follow Jesus or the Anti Christ. We hear so often that this is a time in history that either you will be for God and or against God no middle ground, which if a resister would die then yes they would be on their way to hell but I can’t see them resisting both sides on there own will. I see the extremity of the sixth seal in Rev. 6 and then from there becoming much worse in judgments. Aren’t the Judgments to tri the heart to the core, giving the ones not completely given over time by the mercy of God?

So here is my theory (I also have to give props to Matt Hartke with helping with this also), I think the General Revelation of God has much to do with them resisting for one the Antichrist. In Rom. 1:18-20 “For the Wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. Fro what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse,” so in these few verses it states that man is without excuse that they either receive God by General Revelation even if the gospel is never given to them by another man. The Lord reveals himself through all of his creation. Now that I explained that here’s the meat of my thought, in Acts 10 it talks about Cornelius who was a gentile who feared God. So an angel went to him saying that a man was going to visit him and he should receive him. The Lord was already working on his heart and his works were known by God but yet he was not yet saved. At the same time an angel went to Peter telling him to go to Cornelius to share the gospel to him and when he went and spoke to Cornelius he received Christ. I think that there is defined line between the resistors either their hearts are being more harden by each judgment or they are being provoked by the spirit. I hope this makes sense and I excited to hear what you all think.

I definitely think that general revelation has a lot to with it. I think that the voice of the end-times church has a tremendous part in that, as well. We’re going to be preaching Jesus with some actual authority and clarity.

I mean, imagine yourself as a resistor in the first three and a half years. You think the whole “end of the age” stuff is ridiculous, and all those whacked-out Christians are totally off their rockers. But as time progresses, these believers are operating in tremendous power and joy despite persecution. There’s something unique and intriguing about them, something you feel a little drawn to, but you can’t quite put your finger on it. Too bad they keep talking about the new great leader really being evil and soon giving everybody a mark. Yeah, right. You’ll believe that when you see it.

And then you see it.

If there is so much of a shadow of a doubt in your mind that these Christians might be onto something, you’ll think twice before taking that mark. It may not be enough to drive you to “What must I do to be saved?!” just yet, but you’re a little too nervous to risk your eternal soul. If the Christians are even half right, that mark is bad news. And so is that leader.

Of course, that’s purely my lil pet theory, but that’s how I like to think of it.

And I do think there will definitely be some rednecks in the mix. Undoubtedly. But that won’t be everyone.

Hey Amanda,
I just can’t see someone going through the 6th seal and the Trumpet judgments being able to withstand those judgments on their own strong will. I just think either they are on the road to redemption or their hearts are being more and more hardened over the three and a half years.

I agree with you completely on that point. There’s no way to stay humming happily along in neutral through all that.
